Celtic recently posted an article on Twitter, discussing arguably David Marshall’s best performance as a Hoops player, and a lot of fans are reminiscing over the great European night.
Clearly it was a dream come true for the goalkeeper, as at the age of 19 and due to number one Rab Douglas being suspended for the second leg against FC Barcelona, Marshall would slot in to try and help the side progress to the next round of the Champions League, via Celtic FC.
The goalkeeper not only managed to keep a clean sheet against the Catalan giants, but also picked up the man of the match award, and the result meant the Hoops did advance to the next round, after they had won the first leg 1-0.
It is something to play at the Nou Camp against the Spanish side, but to come in at such a young age and put in a heroic performance which not only shut out a side who had players like Ronaldinho in the starting 11, but also knocked them out of the competition will be something Marshall and the Hoops fan base remember for the rest of their lives.
