Giovani Lo Celso enjoyed a strong showing for Tottenham Hotspur against Norwich City but there was one clear blind spot in his game.
On the chalkboard
The Argentina international was a driving force in the centre of the pitch for Spurs, impressing alongside Harry Winks as Spurs won 2-1.
Per WhoScored, he completed five dribbles throughout the game, laid on four key passes and made four tackles. By all accounts, this was an impressive display.
However, the stats also point to the fact that Lo Celso was dribbled past on four separate occasions, more than any other Spurs player.
While he played an integral role in helping his side secure all three points, his weakness in midfield and inability to win the ball back – he won 50% of his tackles – routinely put Spurs in trouble.
Add into that the fact that he was also dispossessed five times and one has to think that this wasn’t quite the flawless performance it was perhaps made out to be, with fans drooling over his display.

Still adapting
Lo Celso can perhaps explain this away as an adjustment period.
He is continuing to adapt to life at Spurs and has, thus far, made just four starts for the club.
And while his numbers going forward are remarkably positive, he needs to improve when it comes to his strength and ability to win the ball back.
If he is continually being bypassed, the Spurs defence will have more problems to solve than they need.
Put simply, Lo Celso needs to ally his exceptional playmaking skills with a tougher, rougher side of his game.
If he can do that, Spurs will have a proper midfielder on their hands.
Meanwhile, one image should force Daniel Levy into transfer action!
